ROOM PARENT COORDINATOR |
| | Duties include coordinating with teachers to find a room parent (as needed by each teacher) at the beginning of the year. Organizing the room parents information and distributing in to the board, updating the information on the website and training the room parents on their duties. This is a great liason between the teachers, parents and PTA. Full year commitment, busiest at the beginning of the year.

MOVIE TICKET FUNDRAISER CHAIR

| | Duties include coordination of the Movie Ticket Sales for a fundraiser we do with the St Johns Theatre. This is a very successful and easy fundraiser for Chief Joe but without a chair we might miss the opportunity to participate. This position works with the theatre to coordinate picking up tickets and info (they provide posters and info) the office helps to sell tickets and past chairs have been out on the playground after school promoting and selling tickets, however they practically sell themselves. There is a sale in the Fall/Winter and again in Spring. Commitment would be both sales if possible. About 3 hours of admin time, and depending on promotion and sales commitments time may vary. WALK AND BIKE TO SCHOOL COORDINATOR | Melanie Charley | | This is an event put on by the BTA (Bicycle Transportion Authority) and it is part of a national event. International Walk + Bike to School Day is on Wednesday, October 7th!!! The BTA is looking forward to supporting our efforts in encouraging students to walk or bike (or skip, skateboard, scooter, etc) to school on this day! International Walk + Bike to School Day. Celebrated around the world, the day promotes healthy living through safe walking and bicycling to school. We need to register quickly, The first 180 schools to register throughout Oregon will receive a box with incentives for students and organizing materials for school champions. Training by the BTA is available. This is another event that might not happen without a chair. Duties include, making flyers and distributing them to all students (we have template) about 1 hour of computer updating time needed. Day of event chair sets up a sign in table where students come to turn in their forms stating whether they walked or biked that day. We give them a sticker. Then gather all of the forms and separate by classroom teacher. Each participant receives a prize bag that coordinator and helpers prepare. Then deliver prizes to each class. TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK COORD |

Gathering, entering data, and reporting new membership via the state PTA website. Reporting new membership to the PTA board monthly, counting money from new member envelopes, reporting financials of membership. Creating and delivering new membership cards to all new members in a timely manner. Full year commitment with most hours being in the first three months of school.

Talent Expo(Formerly TalentShow) | Brandi/Trinity Webber | Brandi/Trinity Webber | The Talent expo is our annual talent show, art show and just a chance for the Arts & Sciences Committee to show off how all the money raised throughout the year and predominently at the Night of Magic Benefit Auction are spent.
Duties include organizing, promoting and managing the talent for the live performances. Working with Arts & Sciences Committee to coordinate the fine art and science portions. TWO WEEK COMMITMENT, EVERY DAY, NIGHT OF, DAY AFTER ICE CREAM PARTY.

Tray Brigade Coordinator | Jane Chan | Jane Chan | Chief Joseph no longer uses styrofoam trays or plastic silverware!!! This is an amazing feat considering most of the Portland Public Schools still do!!!
Duties include managing, organizing, training and filling in on the tray brigade washing schedule. It takes 1-2 parent volunteers 30-45 minutes per day to wash trays after lunch. We always need tray washers!!! To learn more about helping out or being an alternate please contact the current chair now!!!

Duties include reviewing each picture for the archive (not all pictures are used but the PTA keeps a restricted online archive of event photos for use within the school and for historical purposes only). This chair hosts a "Spruce up the Harvest Fest Decorations" event about two weeks before the carnival that is a family art night and most of the decorations are created then. Working with the childcare program and the school to create a organized and functional enrichment program that reaches as many CJ students as possible. | | Help welcome potential new students to Chief Joe at the round up. Our school is very popular and over 100 potential families attend these two events. We need volunteers to hand out snacks, answer questions, clean up, etc.

| | Help set up, serve and clean up at this fun mother/daughter night for girls in grades 3-5. Art projects, games, dinner and dessert are provided. Please contact school if you would like to help.

Guys Night Out |
| | Help set up, serve and clean up at this fun father/son night for guys in grades 3-5. Art projects, games, dinner and dessert are provided. Please contact school if you would like to help. We try to get all male volunteers for this event if possible. We also sometimes need extra male volunteers to be special friends to guys who's dad's are unable to attend. Please see the office if you know a good male role model who would be interested in this event, the dodge ball game alone is worth it!!!
