Our four most common questions about PTA...
I'm a member now what?
I'm considering being a member but don't know what that means?
What is PTA?
Does being a member mean I have to volunteer?
Answers:
1 & 2. What does the membership give you?
Voting rights at PTA meetings.
Registers you for the National and Oregon PTA Newsletter (if you want it) which has a lot of cool information about education funding on a National level, but it also has fun stuff like activities for your family and the latest news about health issues, enviromental issues and other things that affect children and families.
The opportunity to chair an event at Chief Joe. It's an opportunity to help improve and embellish one of our already great activities or events! To see a list of our open positions click here!

4. ***We love having more members but we want to STRESS that you do not have to be a member of the PTA to volunteer or participate in any of our events. You do not have to volunteer for anything, ever! We think that once you get into Chief Joe and see all of the fun activities and events (not to mention all of the varied volunteer opportunities) that you will want to lend a hand, but no one will ever be forced into a position....well, not physically anyway :0), the spirit is kind of contagious though!
We are going to take some time and work on getting answers to your specific questions about PTA. Please post your questions in this comment box so we can use your questions as an opportunity to answer other community members questions about PTA as an organization and about our unique CJ PTA.
